Instance Actions/Events Missing

Problem

• An instance has missing actions or events, such as lock/unlock, which are not recorded or shown via nova instance-action-list or openstack server event list.

Environment

• Platform9 Managed OpenStack - v3.6-3.11
• Nova

Cause

Prior to the OpenStack Queens release, certain instance actions or events were not recorded (as recognized in an upstream bug report LP#1646323). As part of the Queens release, a specification was implemented to address this shortcoming and these events have now been made available.

Resolution

1. Upgrade to Platform9 v4.0 which supports OpenStack Rocky and includes the aforementioned fix/feature enhancement.
