The Best of VMworld 2014 Awards recognize the most innovative and high-performing products in the server virtualization, cloud computing and end-user computing markets. A panel of expert judges evaluated 179 nominated products on display at VMworld 2014 and named winners in eight categories. Judges also chose one product among those winners as the Best of Show.

Yesterday a startup came out of stealth which was founded by a couple of former VMware veterans.

Platform9, founded in 2013 from former VMware Engineers Sirish Raghuram (former Staff Engineer and now Platform9’s CEO), Madhura Maskasky (also former Staff Engineer and now Head of Product),Roopak Parikh (former Staff MTS at VMware and now Head of Engineering) and Bich Le (former Principal Engineer at VMware and now Chief Architect), exits today from stealth mode announcing its homonymous SaaS cloud management platform that promises to transform the on-premise servers infrastructures into an AWS-like private clouds.

Platform9, a Sunnyvale, CA-based company that helps organizations develop private clouds in minutes, emerged from stealth today.

Recently I had the joy of reconnecting with some of my old VMware colleagues to learn that their new startup was coming out of stealth. Today Platform 9 announced their SaaS platform.

The cloud ecosystem continues to expand as a group of ex-VMware engineers have emerged from stealth mode to launch a new software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform aimed at managing private clouds.

A group of VMware alumni have launched Platform9, a cloud networking management platform designed to give private cloud networks the look, feel, and functionality of public cloud networks such as Amazon Web Services (AWS
