Sirish Raghuram

Sirish Raghuram

Co-Founder and CEO

Sirish is co-founder and chief executive officer at Platform9. Having experienced virtualization, IaaS and cloud-native industry transitions first hand, Sirish believes that open-source represents the future of enterprise hybrid clouds.

Sirish’s priorities are ensuring that customers are successful with their cloud initiatives, the Platform9 team – across employees and partners, scales to build an industry leading company, and Platform9’s product evolves to enable new possibilities with hybrid clouds.

Prior to founding Platform9, Sirish was an early engineer at VMware who went on to technical and management positions. His work at VMware led to several products, features and patents.

Outside Platform9, Sirish follows cricket, makes his kids laugh, and builds his collection of fast lenses and unprocessed photos. His favourite books include the Harry Potter series, Blue Ocean Strategy, Inbound Marketing and Innovator’s Dilemma.

Madhura Maskasky

Madhura Maskasky

Co-Founder and VP of Product

Madhura leads Product Management at Platform9. Before co-founding Platform9, Madhura spent 7 years at VMware Engineering, where she grew to be technical lead for several key products including vCloud Director, Update Manager and ConfigControl.

Madhura helped spearhead vSphere’s transformation into a policy driven product suite, working broadly across groups to pull together the vision. Madhura holds a M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University, specializing in databases and distributed systems.

When she isn’t sweating the details on product, Madhura can be found rock-climbing, swing dancing and exploring San Francisco.

Roopak Parikh

Roopak Parikh

Roopak envisioned the technology powering Platform9, and now leads our Engineering wizards in the quest to realize this vision. Roopak likes to work with customers in designing solutions and solving technical challenges. He also leads incubation projects within the organization and loves talking about everything from latest javascript frameworks to blockchain technologies.

Before co-founding Platform9, Roopak was a technical lead at VMware, where he helped architect and ship major vSphere products: Update Manager and vCloud Director. Before VMware, Roopak was an early engineer at an early stage Mobile computing startup.

Outside of work, Roopak is a fan of audiobooks, likes cooking, following sports, and keeping up with his kids on the soccer field.

Bich Le

In 14 years at VMware as Principal Engineer, Bich enhanced x86 virtualization performance, developed P2V Migration, USB emulation and virtualized application management. More recently, he got involved in web technologies through a secure web browsing product. That combined work resulted in the granting of more than 10 patents.

Before VMware, Bich spent 4 years at Hewlett Packard and HP-Labs, where he created ARIES, the dynamic translator enabling PA-RISC applications to run unmodified on Itanium hardware.

Bich’s idea of fun includes beaches, snow-boarding down fresh powder, cooking and trying great food, and catching up on sports and movies.

Adam J. Ulfers

Vice President of Sales

Adam brings 12 years of technology sales leadership to Platform9. He was previously at Cisco Meraki where he helped build the US and then EMEA cloud technology sales teams, growing the European operation from early-stage to $100 million in revenue in three years.

Prior to Meraki, Adam was at Ricoh where he led top-performing commercial and strategic sales teams, driving results in a rapidly shifting market environment.

Adam is a graduate of University of California at Santa Barbara where he played Division I NCAA volleyball (Go Gauchos!). He is an inveterate reader and follower of world news, still finds time to play volleyball and can find his way around a golf course too.

Lauren Delgado

Vice President of Marketing

Lauren leads the marketing function at Platform9. Before joining the team, she served as the Director of Revenue Marketing through Hortonworks’ IPO, working across product and sales using quantitative methodologies to drive business results, and went on to serve as head of marketing at open source big data startup, DataTorrent.

Prior to Hortonworks, she spent 7 years at Microsoft, then relocated to the bay area for Google before transitioning to the enterprise software startup world.

A Seattle native, Lauren spends most of her non-work time exploring new hikes and sights in the sunny Bay Area and keeping track of the UW Huskies back home.

Amrish Kapoor

Amrish leads Engineering at Platform9. Prior to Platform9 Amrish worked at Microsoft in various technical and management leadership roles, contributing to and delivering virtualization solutions including Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization and User Experience Virtualization as part of the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack, along with some early contributions to Microsoft’s MDM solution – Intune.

Previously, he held engineering leadership roles at technology companies like Azingo (acquired by Motorola), Codito (acquired by Celunite) and Pace Soft-Silicon (acquired by Nvidia). Amrish has a Masters degree from King’s College London.

Outside his Platform9 world, Amrish follows sports – even the most obscure ones – obsessively, when his daughter allows it.

Scott Raney is a Partner at Redpoint Ventures focusing on information and consumer technology with a particular emphasis on cloud computing, on-demand software, enterprise infrastructure and mobile apps and platforms. Scott serves on the board of directors or has been involved with Redpoint’s investments in adap.tv, Cloud.com (acquired by Citrix), Cyanogen, Expensify, Heroku (acquired by Salesforce), Jumptap, Path, RelateIQ, Stripe and Twilio.

Prior to joining Redpoint, Scott served as Senior Manager of New Products with NorthPoint Communications, a data CLEC providing nationwide DSL services. Scott managed NorthPoint’s first consumer product and led product development of other new products. Prior to NorthPoint, Scott worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company, where he helped clients in the private equity and telecommunications industries.

Mark joined Menlo Ventures in 1996 and focuses on investments in datacenter infrastructure, IT security, SaaS applications, and mobile services. Mark’s active investments and board seats include Dstillery, Getaround, Invidi, PernixData, Pluribus Networks, Riffsy, Tintri, and Warby Parker. Some of his previous board seats include 3PAR (acquired by HP), Dropcam (acquired by Google’s Nest), eXelate (acquired by Nielsen), Pliant Technology (acquired by SanDisk), RNA Networks (acquired by Dell), BlueGill Technologies (acquired by Checkfree), Rubric (acquired by Broadbase) and Voltage Security (acquired by HP).

Mark is a graduate of MIT (B.S. in Physics with Electrical Engineering) and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. At MIT, Mark did computer modeling of dark matter and galaxy formation which eventually landed him as a product manager for Oracle’s Massively Parallel Processing Group. In this role, he was part of the original team that developed and deployed one of the first true massively parallel and multi-threaded commercial software offerings – the Oracle Parallel Server. Mark then started and managed a consulting group at Oracle dedicated to serving early customers of this product. In business school, Mark got the startup bug and went on to work in business development for Netscape from the first year of its inception through its IPO in 1996.

Gary Little is a Partner and Co-founder of Canvas Ventures. He led the firm’s investments in Folloze, Totango and Platform9, and is on the board of Viewics. He focuses on innovative software and services investments. Twice in the past six years, Gary has been named to the Forbes Midas List which seeks to identify the venture capitalists that were instrumental in creating the most impactful and valuable companies of tomorrow.

Gary joined Morgenthaler Ventures in 1997 and continues to serve on the boards of Morgenthaler portfolio companies, including Adara, Evernote and MuleSoft (NYSE: MULE). He also led the investment in NexTag and PeopleMatter. Gary serves, or served, as a board observer of Lending Club, Practice Fusion and Sonatype.

Previously, Gary held several roles at Apple Computer, including SVP of Apple’s Power Macintosh Division, VP Sales Americas, and Sr. Dir. of Marketing for Apple’s Pacific division (China, Japan, Asia, Latin America, Canada). Prior to his time at Apple, Gary spent seven years at Sun Microsystems as Director of Product Marketing, Director of Asia Pacific Marketing (including a posting in Hong Kong), and as Group Manager of Industry Marketing. Before Sun, he held sales and marketing positions at IBM. Gary began his career as an IC design engineer for TRW’s microelectronics research labs. Gary earned an MBA from Harvard University and a BSEE from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Bogomil Balkansky

Bogomil Balkansky

Bogomil Balkansky currently works at the stealth mode start up Bebop in San Francisco. Before this entrepreneurial endeavor, Bogomil was a key executive at VMware where he played pivotal role in steering VMware flagship server virtualization product line to cross the chasm and become the de-facto standard in every datacenter. Over his 8-year stint at VMware, the server virtualization product line grew 10X in revenue and its customer base increased from 5K to 300K customers.

Most recently, he was Senior Vice President leading product management and product marketing for the VMware’s Software Defined Datacenter product line. Prior to VMware, Bogomil worked in product management at Siebel Systems – the pioneer of CRM software and at CrossWeave – an innovative application integration start up. He started his career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. Bogomil holds a bachelor of arts in mathematics from Cornell University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Hans Robertson

Hans Robertson

Hans Robertson co-founded Meraki in 2006 and served as its Chief Operating Officer and VP Product. Cisco purchased Meraki in 2012 and Hans is currently a VP at Cisco. Before Meraki, he was in sales and partnerships at VMware and led the product team building a storage virtualization system at EMC. Hans began his career as a business analyst at McKinsey & Co. He holds an S.B. and M.Eng in computer science from MIT.
