Platform9 is now firing on all cylinders, having recently added a Managed Kubernetes offering (PMK) for VMware vSphere to its hybrid cloud portfolio.

Platform9, a company whose primary offering is a managed-Kubernetes service, saw the need for a serverless solution apart from Lambda. It released Fission, an open source serverless framework. Its goal was to provide an easy way for users to get started and manage their applications without having to do any of the plumbing related to containers. Fission is based on native Kubernetes.

Platform9 Managed Kubernetes is a SaaS approach to hybrid and multi-cloud Kubernetes. It works on all the popular cloud platforms, as well as on an enterprise’s own servers. It’s a “bring-your-own-infrastructure” approach that handles all hosting resources through a central management console and adapts to virtually any hosting environment.

Part of the company’s hybrid cloud solution, PMK allows organizations to centrally manage VMs, containers and serverless functions on any environment, with a single pane of glass.

Hybrid cloud solution provider Platform9 has announced its fully managed Kubernetes service on VMware vSphere, Platform9 Managed Kubernetes. This managed Kubernetes service would work out-of-the-box on VMware and comes with a 24x7x365 SLA guarantee.
