Notification to Alert the Expiry of Each Certificate Within the Management Plane
Problem
In Airgapped environment following certificate management notifications would be helpful to reduce the downtime related to certificate expiry issues:
- Notification/event prior to expiry for each [Hostagent, Sunpike, and Cluster] certificates, within details of corresponding number of days left. So customer can set the remediation steps as Major/Critical tasks to avoid down time.
- Currently for renewal the step is to restart PMK stack on all nodes which will require node to be brought down first (Out of Service requiring traffic to be taken off first), as restart of pods with no replica could cause some service impact. Can this be just done on Management Plane so the procedure could be safely done with node In Service/with live traffic.
Environment
- Platform9 Edge Cloud - v5.3 and Higher
Answer
The Platform9 Team is planning to introduce this feature in the upcoming SMCP release.
