Platform9 Named a “Cool Vendor” in Cloud Management, 2016 by Gartner

Recognized for Ease of Use and Faster Time to Value

Sunnyvale, CA – April 11, 2016 – Platform9, the company making private clouds easy, today announced that it has been recognized in the “Cool Vendors in Cloud Management, 2016” (1) report by Gartner, Inc.

“We are honored to be chosen by Gartner as a Cool Vendor in cloud management. This is great validation for Platform9 and our industry-first OpenStack-as-a-service solution,” said Sirish Raghuram, co-founder and CEO of Platform9. “For infrastructure teams solving the problem of shadow IT or DevOps teams accelerating their continuous integration and delivery pipeline, Platform9’s SaaS-based OpenStack solution gives customers the plug-and-play simplicity of public cloud, but on their own private, secure infrastructure.”

Platform9 was founded in 2013 by early VMware engineers Sirish Raghuram (CEO), Madhura Maskasky (Head of Product), Roopak Parikh (Head of Engineering) and Bich Le (Chief Architect) to make private clouds easy, open and enterprise-ready.

In 2015 the company launched its product, Platform9 Managed OpenStack, which is now the easiest (SaaS-based) and most compatible (KVM or VMware vSphere, any hardware, OpenStack APIs) private cloud solution in the industry. The company has enterprise customers in production across the globe, including a key win at Box which was announced earlier this year.

“Our mission is to delight customers with private cloud management that’s simple, open and enterprise ready,” said Raghuram. “We will continue to be laser focused on innovation that serves that purpose, such as our upcoming support for Docker which will deepen the value we deliver to our customers.”
