Creator of Fission.io Serverless framework reveals how to orchestrate Functions for Serverless Applications at Velocity Conference
Platform9, the SaaS-managed hybrid cloud leader, will share best practices on Serverless functions’ orchestration at the O’Reilly Velocity Conference, held Tuesday 6/12- Thursday 6/14 at the San Jose Convention Center, CA.
Serverless applications and Functions-as-s-Service (FaaS) have garnered a lot of interest recently, as developers at both small and large organizations are considering this new architectural pattern as a way to speed application delivery and release. As the technology is still emerging, questions arise regarding best practices for designing Serverless applications, and ways of orchestrating a series of functions to deliver application functionality in a consistent, efficient way.
At Velocity, Platform9’s Soam Vasani and Timirah James rise to the challenge to educate the community and share concrete patterns and tips for handling the growing complexity of Serverless app development.
Soam Vasani is the creator of the Fission.io Serverless framework, a popular open source project that Platform9 contributes to. Timirah James is the Dev Advocate for Fission.io. Soam and Timirah will review four approaches to coordinating and composing serverless functions, and defining underlying workflows. They will share examples and live demos for each approach and compare them with regard to expressiveness, performance, and fault tolerance, as well as other concerns, such as the ease of doing upgrades and monitoring the overall application’s performance.
Velocity conference is held at the San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, CA. The session runs 3.40pm – 4.40pm on Thursday June 14th in location 230B.
Whether you’re attending the event or not, Soam and Timirah are happy to answer questions about their new approach, what it means for engineers and developers, and the impact it will have within the Serverless framework. Contact them on Twitter at @Fissionio
