VMHA Fails to Work When Host Loses Connection to Shared Storage
Problem
- VMHA mechanism should be activated in scenarios when a host loses connectivity to shared storage.
- In the event of a disconnection from shared storage, it is essential for the virtual machines (VMs) to be automatically evacuated from the affected host. This is necessary because, during such disconnections, the VMs can become unresponsive and enter a "hang mode," rendering them read-only and inaccessible.
Environment
- Private Cloud Director Virtualization - v2025.6 and Higher
- Private Cloud Director Kubernetes – v2025.6 and Higher
- Self-Hosted Private Cloud Director Virtualization - v2025.6 and Higher
- Self-Hosted Private Cloud Director Kubernetes - v2025.6 and Higher
- Component: VMHA
Answer
- This is a known product limitation and an RFE (Request for Feature Enhancement) is reported internally with ID - PCD-3448.
