The company has just announced the general availability of its Managed Kubernetes offering along with the introduction of a new, open-source, serverless framework built on the Kubernetes container orchestration tool that it claims is an alternative to Amazon Web Services’ Lambda.

A new framework built atop Kubernetes is the latest project to offer serverless or AWS Lambda-style application architecture on your own hardware or in a Kubernetes-as-a-service offering.

By building a standardized SaaS version of OpenStack, Platform9 simplifies the process for customers. “80% of OpenStack deployments either fail or take too long,” said Platform9 CEO Sirish Raghuram. “99% of our deployments succeed.”

Cloud infrastructure provider Platform9 has announced that OpenStack users will now get high availability capability on their deployments.

Today, they’re coming out with a managed Kubernetes Container-as-a-Service platform with support for the Docker container runtime engine . In true Platform9 style, they’ve made the service Enterprise-ready, by integrating RBAC, multi-tenancy, SSO, persistent storage, fine-grained network isolation and image management.
