Disable Platform9 Managed Monitoring Deployments

Problem

At times, there is a requirement to disable Platform9's managed monitoring deployments, such as kube-state metrics (part of Platform9 Managed Monitoring ClusterAddon) or the Helm-based monitoring solution from Platform9, in order to use only the customer-managed monitoring solution.

Environment

• Platform9 Managed Kubernetes - v5.6 and Higher

Answer

Disabling the Platform9 Managed Monitoring deployments by scaling them down to 0 will impact the SaaS-level monitoring service. This is not recommended if the customer is looking for alerts related to Kubernetes platform-level issues, as the Platform9 team will not receive any Kubernetes platform-level alerts to notify the customer.

Additional Information

Upon successful implementation and verification of a custom monitoring solution, the Platform9 monitoring deployments can be scaled down or disabled to accommodate organization-specific monitoring requirements..
