Etcd Backup etcdv3_backup.db Not Seen On All Master Nodes

Problem

Could not see /var/opt/pf9/kube/etcd/etcd-backup/etcdv3_backup.db in one cluster however it is present on master nodes in another cluster.

Answer

  • During investigation, it was observed that Etcd backup was disabled on the cluster where backup file was not seen.

  • The etcdv3_backup.db is dumped on master nodes of PMK clusters if Etcd backup is disabled, before a couple of operations and present at location /var/opt/pf9/kube/etcd/etcd-backup
